Day 7.
Inspired by Dawn and Jeff's great idea, I did a homemade circuit routine early this morning. I don't have much space to work with in my cluttered little basement, but I was able to do a pretty good variety of exercises in the approximately 3x6 space between the TV, the bike trainer, the couch, and the wall. I did two to three intervals each of crunches, squats, forward and side lunges, push-ups on the Fit Ball, wall sits, dips (with my hands on the couch or the ball), shoulder exercises with five-pound weights, and both thigh and chest exercises with the Magic Circle. I also included step-ups, using the stairs. This 35-minute workout went fast, got my heart rate up and my body sweating, and was really fun. I cooled down with some stretching, for a total workout of about 45 minutes.
Steve took advantage of the warm weather to go for a 40-minute run in the middle of his workday. Lucky for him, the high winds had settled down, or he might have been blown all the way to Longmont. He had planned to climb tonight with Michelle, too. Unfortunately, a grass fire is burning in North Boulder, and Michelle needed to get home to ensure she and Karl could evacuate themselves and their dogs if necessary. Priorities!
OK, couldn't go outdoors, too windy. Saving a secret sinister strategy for a moment of total desperation this month. Wanted to stay home because of the fires near here. So, it's exercise from Comcast OnDemand. First, did the Gaiam Pilates Core Challenge for probably 25 minutes (it can't be the entire thing). Then did the Exercise TV "Thighs and Buns Yoga" for 20 minutes. Much preferred the woman in the pilates vid, but the other was probably more challenging.

Am I off a day?
Yay. Glad the circuit was fun! It feels good to change it up a bit. I did 30 minutes on the bike trainer this afternoon. And, of course, we have climbing tonight!
