Caucusing for Obama, with Mama.
Although he was not the youngest person present at our neighborhood caucus spot last night, Milo was the youngest AWAKE person in the room. And how very awake he was! Though the evening's events began right around the time Milo is usually getting ready for bed, he wasn't about to miss out on the opportunity to help pick America's next president. Plus, he was already dressed for the occasion:
Our caucus location was jammed to the rafters, and things were pretty chaotic. But Milo took it all in with wide eyes and a calm demeanor. He snuggled into the Beco carrier and looked around at all the people. He listened patiently to the speeches, and never once spoke out of turn. He's not quite old enough to vote, but he smiled broadly when Mommy and Daddy cheered for Obama.
It was pretty thrilling to share this kind of grass-roots politicking with our kiddo. I have a feeling we'll tell the story of his first caucus for many years to come (and we'll drag it out to torment him if he rebels against us by becoming a conservative Republican).

Love it! D will be wanting to get one of these for Ila.
